My Experience With Smudging

I've explained earlier what smudging is and how it's done.
Smudging
Now I'll share a personal experience:

I use this technique often and for me it's on a as needed basis...or  when I feel it is needed. (listen to my intuition)
I began on one day and used my sage in our home and then went outside so I could protect the exterior...this, to me, lets nothing unwanted or those who want to cause harm allowed in our home. I pay special attention to the doors and windows.... I went to our cars and included them...then around our storage building. All went well and I was satisfied...I usually go over all of our property..walk the property lines..but I  looked and thought "I'll finish it later"

Then there were storm warnings. High wind came ripping through our area. The warnings came out as the storm was already upon us..... It began while we were at a gas station filling up our tank and a strong "sheet" of wind come on us...it seemed to come out of nowhere and we thought it was strange and over at that point.

At home our lights went out, the wind was howling and again over quickly...I went out when all was calm to check things out. I saw a huge tree 2 houses over had fallen and the roots were completely out for the ground. I kept walking our neighborhood and was amazed at all he down trees and damage that had happened. A tornado was ruled out as a cause.... I looked at our home and all seemed well. The lights were back on, nothing broken and no trees down...or so I thought.

I walked to the back part of our land and there it was. 3 trees were down. One was on the lines running at the back of the property. One tree had been uprooted and had knocked down another tree when falling. The roots of one tree had shot up through the tree house built between 2 trees....

This is the area I had neglected to smudge.

I didn't know there was a storm coming (no one did until it hit us) and I was only listening to my intuition when I smudged inside and out...I just didn't finish what I started.....

Lesson learned
