I love amusement parks..I'm still a big kid in that area.

In 2004 I bought a family pass to the amusement park close by. It opened in March and we went often. Problem was there was one ride I really wanted to ride and it was not working each time we were there. I preferred to go on week days since it wasn't so crowded so on a Monday morning in June  we got ready to go. I had my youngest son and a couple of his friends to go with us.

As excited as I was something just didn't feel right. I brushed it off and we all got ready to go. I mean...it didn't seem like anything major. There was no pain in my body, no headache, my vision was fine....I had some strange feelings in my left leg and arm ..not unusual for me really since I've had fibromyalgia since the early '80's and am used to things just feeling weird ......

I told the kids I had to run to the doctors office and would be right back...the look of disappointment on their faces was heartbreaking. I assured them it wouldn't take long and we'd still go and stay until the park closed and watch the fireworks.

I went to an urgent care where no appointment was needed. When I told them my symptoms they took me aside and told me to go across the street to the hospital..they thought I was having a heart attack....(my question after thinking on this is why did they have me drive myself there? lol)

It wasn't far, just across the 4 lane highway...and I began to get a little disoriented..I made it there though. At the hospital emergency room they took me right in. All seemed to be happening so fast! My heart was fine.....

One doctor on duty ordered  a ct scan on my head...and that's when they found the aneurysm...a blueberry size aneurysm that they feared would burst at any time.

I made the calls I had to make and found someone to watch the children. I was transported to another hospital where the surgery would be performed. I was put in ICU and was not allowed to move, get out of bed...nothing.....any movement may cause the aneurysm to rupture.

It took until Friday for them to have a team together to perform the surgery. I was allowed visitors every few hours for 15 minutes at a time (family only and my youngest son was too young to be allowed in the ICU) My oldest son was flown in form Florida by my sister. All my family was near.....

I don't recall much ...The morning of the surgery I got to see all my family before being taken in to surgery...and the next week I remember nothing about 

Each time I go to a doctor and give them my medical history they are all amazed..I shouldn't be here.....

But I am.....

Listening to my intuition has made a huge difference in my life....

It took a while to get back on my feet but.....I did. I'm to have an angiogram yearly to make sure all is well and the coiling in my brain is doing it's job My hair covers the scar from the top of my head to behind my ear....

Oh, I forgot to mention...I presented with no symptoms of an aneurysm.....they found it on the left side of my brain ...which controls the right side of the body. All I felt was on my left side....amazing really

And yes...I still go to amusement parks and scream and yell like a little kid..

I did have to wait until the next season to ride the ride I had been wanting to that day.
 It was Great!!
